Student Accomplishments – Ana Mihalcea, M.D. : Building a Fall Prevention Program
“About 16 months ago, I became really passionate about the idea of creating a Fall Prevention Program for older adults in our region. I also wanted to be a part of high-functioning teams and made cards for Fieldwork® on this. I wanted to get opportunities to talk to the Elderly about rewiring their brain and improving their balance system.”
“I put a lot of time and effort into building the idea but faced many obstacles last year, and the project was postponed. I continued to focus on it … and, in March 2015, suddenly doors opened. I now collaborate with a true dream-team of Individuals, absolutely passionate about building a program that helps reduce falls and injuries in our elderly population. The focus manifested in ways I could not have foreseen. It is such a privilege and joy to work with people who love what they do and put their heart and soul into it. I have now the opportunity to talk to the Elderly about the neuroplasticity of their brain and how they can improve their balance.
The project is just beginning! Focus works!”
